FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUGUSTA, Maine  November 3, 2017  Central Maine Power Co. (CMP), a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a diversified energy and utility company, estimates it has restored power to 90 percent of the customers who lost service after a wind and rain storm tore through the state earlier this week. By 9:30 p.m. Friday, outages had dropped to fewer than 40,000 customer accounts, down from a peak of 404,000 at midday Monday.

In just five days, our crews have restored service to more than 360,000 customers and replaced nearly 800 broken poles, more than 200 of which were set today, said CMP President and CEO Sara Burns. We remain on target to restore power to the majority of customers by Saturday evening."

CMP started Friday with a storm recovery workforce of 3,000 people; additional tree crews are expected to join the force on Saturday.
The company will work around the clock to continue to bring more customers on line, with the majority to have service back by late Saturday. The only exceptions could be homes on remote camp lines and in areas where flooding or downed trees prevent access. CMP continues to update restoration estimates by town and road on the Outage Central section of its web site. Customers are encouraged to check back often, as the list is being updated frequently.
