CMP Sends Crews to Vermont to Help With Storm Repairs
 

AUGUSTA, Maine, December 11, 2014  Approximately 22 two-person line crews and additional personnel from Central Maine Power Company (CMP), a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, are in Vermont providing mutual aid to Green Mountain Power. Personnel and equipment left the Kennebunk service plaza on the Maine Turnpike Thursday evening. 

 
This weeks winter storm brought heavy, wet snow to parts of Vermont, causing extensive damage to trees, tree limbs, and electrical equipment.
 
Accompanying the lineworkers to Vermont were about a dozen CMP supervisors, safety specialists, mechanics, and logistics specialists.
 
Other companies from around New England and Canada have helped us recover from big storms, said Sara Burns, Central Maine Power president. We know how tough conditions like that can be on utility workers and their customers. I believe it's important for utility companies to help their neighbors.

The CMP group is expected to be in Vermont for several days.
