First responder utility emergency training
Designed for Fire and Rescue and Law Enforcement, this in-person training conducted by Central Maine Power’s Public Education Team will provide an overview of storm response procedures, an introduction to our Transmission & Distribution systems, including substations, and address common issues faced when responding to electrical emergencies involving our system.

Safety City for educators & schools
CMP wants everyone to understand how to be safe around power lines and other structures. Safety City is our free, traveling electrical safety exhibit. Set up like a real neighborhood, Safety City helps school children of all ages understand how to be safe around power lines and other structures ─ and that no line is safe to touch ever!

Right-of-way access training
Outdoor recreation is one of the reasons Maine is a great place to live, work, and play! Our corridors provide ample opportunity for recreation and wildlife viewing--including hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails, but there are some important safety and access guidelines to keep in mind. We’ve teamed up with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife to review what activities are allowed on CMP rights-of-way, safety information, and tips for being a good land user.

Contractors & other utilities
Education and preparation can impact the outcome of a utility emergency. This training identifies the responsibilities, hazards, precautions, safety zones, and the role of each agency, and how to integrate and coordinate each agency’s response effectively and safely.
