AUGUSTA, ME – February 10, 2025 – Central Maine Power is committed to giving back to the communities its serves. In 2024, employees volunteered more than 5,000 hours, and the company partnered with over 140 Maine charities and organizations, contributing more than $800,000. Contributed funds are not recovered from ratepayers.

“CMP employees showed incredible commitment to the communities they serve, and their volunteer hours made a meaningful impact across Maine,” said Amy Marston, CMP Director of Community Relations.  “Giving back is a core part of who we are at Central Maine Power, and we look forward to continuing these partnerships with so many community organizations in the years ahead.”

“I’m incredibly proud to see the impact our CMP employees have made in so many Maine communities,” said Pablo Colón, director of corporate citizenship and executive director of the Avangrid Foundation. “Through the work of our dedicated employees we are supporting organizations that address food insecurity, housing, education, wildlife, and other critical community needs.”

Groups include Junior Achievement of Maine, Make-A-Wish Maine, Travis Mills Foundation, Mitchell Institute, Boots2Roots, The Dempsey Center, Sweetser Mental Health, Special Olympics Maine, Mission Working Dogs, Olympia Snow Women’s Leadership Institute, and the Augusta Food Bank.

"We are incredibly grateful to Central Maine Power and Avangrid as they have been a terrific supporter of the Augusta Food Bank for many years,” said Bob Moore, CEO of the Augusta Food Bank. “From sponsoring our AFB Marketplace, which is our "supermarket" visited by hundreds every month, to serving on our Board, to providing an army of employees to volunteer at our facility, CMP has played a huge role in helping the Augusta Food Bank end hunger in our community."

CMP and the Avangrid Foundation encourage employees to volunteer their time through the Energized for Good program. Through this initiative, the Avangrid Foundation donates $15 per employee volunteer hour to qualifying organizations, up to 100 hours per employee.

CMP is committed to providing safe and reliable power to our Maine customers and supporting the organizations and charities that help our neighbors succeed.
