CMP: Goal to Restore Vast Majority of Customers Today
As CMP’s around the clock restoration effort continues, efforts will now focus on coastal communities hardest hit by Hurricane Lee.
AUGUSTA, ME — September 17, 2023 — Since the onset of Hurricane Lee, Central Maine Power’s crews have worked around the clock to restore power to its customers.
CMP will continue working today by collapsing and redeploying crews to coastal communities most impacted by Hurricane Lee in an effort to restore the vast majority of customers by the end of the day on Sunday. Part of CMP’s Sunday restoration effort is to bring power back to as many businesses, schools, and other key locations so that Mainers can get back to daily life come Monday morning.
“In this day and age, we know how important electricity is to Maine’s homes, businesses, and communities, and we are doing everything we can to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible,” said Jon Breed, spokesperson for CMP. “We are so grateful for all the support our customers and communities have shown our teams over the past several days.”
