Find it Online: CMP Announces Digital Move-In/Move-Out Portal
This fall, CMP unveiled a new online process to start and stop electricity service, saving customers time when they move to a new location.
Augusta, ME —December 6, 2024 – Central Maine Power (CMP) customers now have a quick, convenient option to start and stop their electric service, saving customers time and phone calls.
This fall, CMP completed the rollout of its new, digital move-in and move-out (MIMO) portals. These portals are for customers who are moving into a new home or residence or moving out of one and need to start or stop CMP service.
- In the move in portal, both first-time and existing CMP customers can inform CMP of an address they expect to move in and set a date to activate their service.
- In the move out portal, customers can set a date to end service and provide the address where their final electric bill should be sent.
“Moving is time-consuming and we want to make that easier,” said Linda Ball, Vice President of Customer Service for Central Maine Power. “This streamlined, digital portal is already benefiting customers and we look forward to continuing to prioritize technology like this that are a positive
improvement all around.”
The MIMO portal improvements are part of CMP’s commitment to identify operational efficiencies and implement them for customers. MIMO will work for all new customers. This includes those moving to CMP’s service area from another region of Maine or out-of-state, or for customers turning on or off their camp service for the season.
However, if you are making a new service connection where there was not one previously, you will still need to contact CMP Customer Service through our Contact Center. Connecting a newly built home that does not yet have a CMP meter service still requires Contact Center assistance.
